Hi, I’m Sheila. I am an easy-going, laid-back portrait photographer who started out in nature/landscape and wildlife photography. This blog is dedicated to the nature side of things.
In my daily life, I play a lot of roles. I am a mother, aunt, sister, friend. I love nature, purses, coffee and winter. Yes, I said winter. Heckle all you want, but I can’t pass up a good snowy winter session! I have been a shutterbug since junior high, but it wasn’t until later in life that photography became my passion. In 2011, I finished a Project 365. I credit this project as the beginning of my obsession. I took a photo a day for 365 days. Mostly nature, still life, barns, landscape, etc., that I still love to photograph. That is when I started this blog, however, I’ve gotten away from it and am trying to move back to it. I opened a fine art print gallery late last year to sell some of my images. Check it out here! I am also working on getting a Fine Art America gallery set up. I began photographing people in the summer of 2011, and soon realized my favorite were seniors and families.
I was recently voted Best Photographer in the 2018 Elk River Star News Readers Choice Awards. I was also a Featured Photographer with the Snap Society, and a Thumbtack Top Pro for 2015, 2016 and 2017. If you would like, you can check out my portrait photography website here.
The other half of From Moments to Memories is my daughter, Baylee (my sidekick). She is in charge of the business and social media side of my portrait photography, as well as giving her expertise on styling and makeup. Baylee loves all things animals, nature, makeup, and educating people on living a cruelty-free life. Seniors relate to her, as she was recently a senior herself, as part of the Class of 2017. Families also warm to her, the kids adore her and she helps them have so much fun!
Together, we are Netflix junkies, love to travel, hike, hang out in the coffee shop and will never pass up a great Disney movie.
I have not been very good at keeping up this blog, but am going to really try here 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
